Jorge’s work is a by-product of the process of discovery as well as a way to transcend preconceived ideas of what art should be.

For Jorge, the canvas becomes a diving board into the unknown. He wants the viewer to interact with his work so he allows the imagery to suggest rather than define. By not allowing a definite solution, the work reinvents itself in the mind of everyone who comes in contact with it, and in the process, the work remains alive and fresh as it interacts with every individual in his own personal way.

Visually Jorge’s work engages the viewer thru a combination of abstract and figurative images; his work explores his own experiences of exile, and his interest in music, rhythm and time.

Jorge works with Oils, Inks, and Acrylics, and the medium of choice depends on the specific characteristics he’s looking for in the work.

Jorge also enjoys the process of “story telling” on the canvas so a narrative sense is ever present. By developing symbols and icons as part of a personal narrative the work alludes to a “story” while allowing the viewer to arrive at his or her own conclusions.
